Bucharest's shopping centre stock has increased to 965,200 sq m GLA following the opening of ParkLake (70,000 sq m).
Shopping centre density has outpaced for the first time 500 sq m / 1,000 inhabitants, with the new value of 512 sq m / 1,000 inhabitants being higher than in Budapest (469) and coming close to the level in Prague (541). Highest densities in Central and Eastern Europe are found in Bratislava (828) and Warsaw (676).
Romania's modern shopping centre stock has outpaced 3 million sq m GLA following the first major delivery of this year, the extension of Shopping City Timisoara with approximatelly 40,700 sq m GLA.
Modern shopping centre stock is now 5 times larger than 10 years ago, while shopping centre density has increased to 150 sq m, corresponding to 63% of EU-average (238 sq m / 1,000 inhabitants).
